Mini Cavapoo Puppies

What is a Cavapoo?

Cavapoos are a cross between Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Poodles. They can be described as affectionate, gentle, loyal. They are even tempered, but can also be playful and full of personality! Be prepared for your cavapoo to be by your side. Cavapoos are not known to be excessive barkers and they can be somewhat hypo-allergenic depending on the genetic result from the parent dogs. Since poodles are non-shedders, the cavapoos often inherit some of this quality!

What is an F1?

The term F1 simply refers to the amount of poodle compared to the amount of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in the particular cross. F1 puppies are 50% Cavalier and 50% poodle. This is often a desirable cross because they receive hybrid vigor which simply means lower risk of the known issues associated with either of the parent breeds! F1b is 75% poodle and 25% Cavalier. In our case to make F1bs we cross an F1 mama with a mini poodle dad.

What is a Mini?

A mini cavapoo means that one of the parents was a miniature, and in our case, the sires, Chief , Thunder, and waffles are AKC-registered miniature poodles!  They weigh in at 10 & 11 pounds. They all have been OFA and genetically tested!

Fancy, our foundation mama, is a full-blooded AKC-registered Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  She weighs 20 pounds, she is OFA and genetic tested, and is up-to-date on all vaccinations!

We expect our puppies to be somewhere between 15-25 lbs when full-grown!

Our approach to puppies starts with our housedog Fancy giving birth in her own little doggie room assisted by Monica. Fancy is a rockstar mama! At about 2 days old we begin doing Early Neurological Stimulation exercises and Early Scent Introduction daily.

At three and a half weeks we start potty training and weaning them. We took our cue from the mama who starts to pull away. They take immediately to wet puppy food and transition to a slurry of dry food prepared fresh each meal. We then begin potty training them!

Additionally we teach them emotional stability skills such as responding to new stimuli and recovering quickly. Along with emotional skills, we begin handling the pups daily paying particular attention to pads of the feet, tail, ear and mouth in order to desensitize them to these types of touch. This will aid in grooming and doctoring later in life. Getting their nails trimmed will be old hat for these puppies by the time they are 4 weeks old! Exposing them to household sounds such as the hair dryer and vacuum cleaner, traffic and thunderstorms along with other dog sounds will make the transition to your home even more seamless.

Your puppy comes home with all up-to-date worming and vaccinations along with a health check from the vet! We even throw in a welcome home package for your puppy to have a smooth transition away from the litter. Kit includes a Snuggle Puppy with a heating pad and a heart beat, a blanket that smells like the pack and a sample/starter pack of the food they are accustomed to eating.

Later in puppyhood, some basic training such as "sit" and "come" will be introduced as well as early crate training! We want these puppies to be absolute blessings to your family as our dogs are to ours and our early weeks with them are very important in that journey! We will do our best for you!
